Abstract: The dication of the title cluster salt, [(⁵-C₅Me₅)₂Mo₂(₃-S)₄Cu₂(PhNH₂)₂](ClO₄)₂·0.5PhNH₂ or [Mo₂Cu₂(C₁₀H₁₅)₂S₄(C₆H₇N)₂](ClO₄)₂·0.5C₆H₇N, features an [Mo₂S₄Cu₂] cubane-like core structure. The Cu^I atom, coordinated by three bridging S atoms and the N atom of an aniline ligand, exhibits a tetrahedral coordination geometry. The uncoordinated aniline molecule is disordered over two positions related by an inversion centre.
