Bis[([eta]5-cyclopentadienyl)tris(diethyl phosphito)-[kappa]3P,P',P''-cobaltate(III)-[kappa]3O,O',O'']cobalt(II)

M. P. Weberski and C. C. McLauchlan

Abstract: The title compound [systematic name: bis([eta]5-cyclopentadienyl)hexakis([mu]-diethyl phosphito)-1:2[kappa]6P:O;2:3[kappa]6O:P-tricobalt(II,III,III)], [Co3(C5H5)2(C4H10O3P)6], is a well known mixed-valence CoII/CoIII cluster, with inversion symmetry. Each CoIII atom is bonded to three P atoms and a [eta]5-cyclopentadienyl ring; the central CoII atom, lying on an inversion center, has six O-atom neighbors in an octahedral arrangement.
