5-cyclopentadienyl)tris(diethyl phosphito)-
3P,P',P''-cobaltate(III)-
3O,O',O'']cobalt(II)Abstract: The title compound [systematic name: bis(
5-cyclopentadienyl)hexakis(
-diethyl phosphito)-1:2
6P:O;2:3
6O:P-tricobalt(II,III,III)], [Co3(C5H5)2(C4H10O3P)6], is a well known mixed-valence CoII/CoIII cluster, with inversion symmetry. Each CoIII atom is bonded to three P atoms and a
5-cyclopentadienyl ring; the central CoII atom, lying on an inversion center, has six O-atom neighbors in an octahedral arrangement.
