Methyl 6-methyl-2-thioxo-4-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carboxylate

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₆H₂₀N₂O₅S, was synthesized from 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzaldehyde, methyl 3-oxobutanoate and thiourea in ethanol. The tetrahydropyrimidin-2-one ring is not planar and the benzene ring is almost perpendicular to it. Molecules are connected by N-HS and N-HO hydrogen bonds.
