Abstract: The title compound, C₁₇H₁₉NO₅S, crystallizes with two molecules per asymmetric unit; these do not exhibit the same pattern of hydrogen bonds. The indole part of the carbazole skeleton is almost planar, while the cyclohexenone ring is twisted.
