N,N'-Bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diammonium dichloride hexadeuterodimethyl sulfoxide disolvate

M. Matiková-Malarová, M. Sebela and Z. Trávnícek

Abstract: The structure of the title compound, C14H20N42+·2Cl-·2(CD3)2SO, consists of a centrosymmetric N1,N2-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,2-ethanediammonium dication, two chloride anions and two hexadeuterodimethyl sulfoxide molecules. In the crystal structure, the cations form channels, extending along the [001] direction, which are occupied by dimethyl sulfoxide molecules and chloride anions. The secondary structure is further stabilized by N-H...Cl and N-H...O hydrogen bonds and weak intermolecular C-H...Cl and C-H...O interactions.
