Abstract: There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C14H16N2O2S. The quinoline system of each molecule is planar [maximum deviation from planarity = 0.05 (2) Å], while the piperidine ring exibits a chair conformation. Intermolecular C-H
O hydrogen bonds connect symmetry-related molecules.
