3-(4-Ethylanilino)isobenzofuran-1(3H)-one

Abstract: Crystals of the title compound, C₁₆H₁₅NO₂, are stabilized by intermolecular N-HO and C-HO hydrogen bonds. The N-HO hydrogen bonds generate C(6) chains along the c axis; these chains are further connected by C-HO hydrogen bonds, forming R₄⁴(21) motifs and a three-dimensional network. The phthalide group is planar and the dihedral angle between it and the benzene ring is 68.75 (2)°.
