Diaquabis(4-chlorobenzoato-O)bis(nicotinamide-N)cobalt(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [Co(C₇H₄ClO₂)₂(C₆H₆N₂O)₂(H₂O)₂], the Co^II atom lies on a centre of inversion and is coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry by two 4-chlorobenzoate anions, two nicotinamide molecules and two water molecules, all of which act as monodentate ligands. Intermolecular O-HO and N-HO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into two-dimensional sheets.
