C-HF, C-F and C-FF-C interactions in a palladium(II) benzenethiolate complex

Abstract: The title compound, [1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene-²P,P']bis(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzenethiolato-S)palladium(II), [FePd(C₆F₅S)₂(C₁₇H₁₄P)₂], crystallizes with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. The complex has the palladium metal center in a slightly distorted square-planar environment with the 1,10-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene (dppf) ligand coordinated in a bidentate fashion and, completing the coordination environment, the two -SC₆F₅ thiolates in a cis configuration. The molecules are linked by weak C-F, C-FF-C and C-HF stacking interactions.
