11-Bromo-1-ferrocenylundecan-1-one

Abstract: In the title compound, [Fe(C₅H₅)(C₁₆H₂₄BrO)], the ⁵-cyclopentadiene rings are essentially eclipsed, while the well ordered chain of the undecanone substituent is bowed significantly towards the Fe atom. In the crystal structure, adjacent molecules form inversion-related dimers through weak C-HO and C-HBr interactions. These dimers are further aggregated by intermolecular C-H interactions between neighbouring cyclopentadiene rings, forming zigzag chains along the c axis.
