Abstract: In the title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C16H24BrO)], the
5-cyclopentadiene rings are essentially eclipsed, while the well ordered chain of the undecanone substituent is bowed significantly towards the Fe atom. In the crystal structure, adjacent molecules form inversion-related dimers through weak C-H
O and C-H
Br interactions. These dimers are further aggregated by intermolecular C-H
interactions between neighbouring cyclopentadiene rings, forming zigzag chains along the c axis.
