Bis(2,3,5,6-tetra-2-pyridylpyrazine-²N¹,N²,N⁶)iron(II) tetrakis(thiocyanato-N)ferrate(II) methanol solvate

Abstract: In the cation of the title compound, [Fe(C₂₄H₁₆N₆)₂][Fe(NCS)₄]·CH₃OH at 88 (2) K, the two hexadentate 2,3,5,6-tetra-2-pyridylpyrazine ligands coordinate to the Fe^II atom as tridentate ligands to give an octahedral mononuclear complex. In the anion, the tetrahedral Fe^II ion is coordinated by the N atoms of the four thiocyanate ions.
