Abstract: In the molecule of the title compound, [K(C₁₀H₉NO₃)(H₂O)], the dihedral angle between the planes of the salicylidene and alanine units is 73.7 (3)°. In the crystal structure, intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a two-dimensional layer.
