Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C₈H₄O₄)(C₁₄H₈N₄)(H₂O)]_n, the Cu^II atom is five-coordinate and exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate ligand bridges the Cu^II atoms to form a one-dimensional chain structure.
