2N,N']copper(II) dinitrate methanol disolvateAbstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C17H16N4)2](NO3)2·2C2H5OH, the CuII ion lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis and is in a distorted square-planar coordination geometry formed by four N atoms from two 1,3-bis(benzimidazol-2-yl)propane ligands. The N-Cu-N angles range from 90.25 (7) to 144.89 (11)°. In the crystal structure, a two-dimensional framework is formed by a combination of N-H
O and O-H
O hydrogen bonds.
