Abstract: The title compound, [Cd(C8H6NO4S)2(H2O)3]·2H2O, has a seven-coordinate CdII atom in a distorted pentagonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by four carboxylate O atoms from two (2-nitrophenylsulfanyl)acetate groups and three O atoms from three water molecules. The complex molecules are linked together by intermolecular hydrogen bonds involving the uncoordinated water molecules, resulting in a two-dimensional network.
