Aquapyridinesilver(I) 4-amino-2,5-dichlorobenzenesulfonate dihydrate

Abstract: The title compound, [Ag(C₅H₅N)(H₂O)](C₆H₄Cl₂NO₃S)·2H₂O, has a mononuclear structure in which the Ag⁺ cation is two-coordinated by one N atom from a pyridine molecule and one O atom from a water molecule. The 4-amino-2,5-dichlorobenzenesulfonate anion does not coordinate to the Ag atom, but acts as a counterion. Intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds link the ions and water molecules.
