(-trans-1,2-Di-4-pyridylethylene-²N:N')bis[(bipyridine-²N,N')(triphenylphosphine-P)copper(I)] bis(tetrafluoroborate)

Abstract: In the centrosymmetric dinuclear cation of the title complex, [Cu₂(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂(C₁₂H₁₀N₂)(C₁₈H₁₅P)₂](BF₄)₂, each Cu atom is coordinated by two N atoms from a 2,2-bipyridine ligand and a P atom from a triphenylphosphine ligand, and the two N₂PCu⁺ fragments are bridged by a trans-1,2-di-4-pyridylethylene ligand, resulting in a distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry. Two F atoms are disordered over two sites each, with almost equal occupancies.
