N1)dichloridozinc(II)Abstract: The title compound, [ZnCl2(C4H5N3)2], contains a four-coordinate ZnII atom in an approximately tetrahedral environment. The ZnII atom lies on a twofold rotation axis and is coordinated by two N atoms of two 2-aminopyrimidine ligands and by two Cl- anions. N-H
N hydrogen bonds connect the complex molecules to form a one-dimensional supramolecular structure along the c axis. The supramolecular chains are parallel to each other and N-H
Cl hydrogen bonds link them into a two-dimensional network in the ac plane.
