1,3,4,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-2-(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)--D-mannopyranose

Abstract: Two independent molecules comprise the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C₁₅H₁₉F₃O₁₂S, which was synthesized by reacting 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl--D-mannopyranose with trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride. In one molecule three F atoms and one O of the -SO₂CF₃ side chains are disordered equally over two positions; in the other molecule the three F atoms are equally disordered over two positions.
