Bis(1-acetyl-2-naphtholato)diaquamagnesium(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [Mg(C₁₂H₉O₂)₂(H₂O)₂], the magnesium cation (site symmetry $\\overline{1}$ ) is octahedrally coordinated by two O,O'-bidentate 1-acetyl-2-naphtholate anions and two water molecules. Intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds help to consolidate the crystal packing.
