Triaqua(5-formyl-N-salicylidene-DL-alaninato-³N,O,O')nickel(II) monohydrate

Abstract: The deprotonated Schiff-base dianion in the title compound, [Ni(C₁₁H₉NO₄)(H₂O)₃]·H₂O, occupies the meridional sites of the NiO₅N octahedron. The neutral complex molecule interacts with the uncoordinated water molecule by way of O-HO hydrogen bonds to give rise to a three-dimensional network. The ethylidene part of the molecule is disordered over two positions in a 0.74:0.26 ratio.
