Bis(4,4'-bipyridine-²N,N')tetrakis(nitrato-²O,O')cerium(IV)

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ce(NO₃)₄(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂], contains one half-molecule. The Ce^IV atom, lying on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis, is ten-coordinated by two N atoms of 4,4'-bipyridine and eight O atoms of four NO₃^- ligands. In the crystal structure, intra- and intermolecular C-HO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a supramolecular network.
