Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C14H13N2)[Ni(C6H4S2)2], contains two cations, one anion and two half-anions. One of the half-anions has Ni on a twofold rotation axis, while the other has Ni on a centre of symmetry. In the anions, the Ni ions are surrounded by four S atoms in a distorted square-planar geometry. In the crystal structure, the anions exhibit two different packing modes by stacking in face-to-face and side-by-side fashions.
