Aqua(2,2'-bipyridine-²N,N')(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate N-oxide-²O¹,O²)copper(II) trihydrate

Abstract: In the title complex, [Cu(C₇H₃NO₅)(C₁₀H₈N₂)(H₂O)]·3H₂O, the Cu^II atom has a slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry, with a basal plane formed by two N atoms of the 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and two O atoms of the pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate N-oxide. The apical position is occupied by a water molecule. The crystal structure contains O-HO intermolecular hydrogen bonds.
