Abstract: The title compound, [NiCl₂(C₁₂H₁₂N₂)]_n, is a nickel complex polymer bridged by 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane ligands. The Ni^II center is coordinated in a distorted tetrahedral geometry by two Cl ligands and two N atoms from two 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane ligands, forming a one-dimensional zigzag chain.
