Bis{2-[(2-aminophenyl)iminomethyl]-6-carboxyphenolato-³O,N,N'}zinc(II)

Abstract: The title compound, [Zn(C₁₄H₁₇N₂O₃)₂], is a complex of Zn^II and the Schiff base 2-[(2-aminophenyl)iminomethyl]-6-carboxyphenol synthesized by the reaction of 3-carboxylsalicylaldehyde and (1R,2R)-diaminocyclohexane in equimolar ratio. In the crystal structure, the Zn^II ion is six-coordinated in an octahedral environment (N₄O₂) formed by two monovalent anions. Each anion acts as a tridentate NON-chelator and occupies a coordination plane. The two NON coordination planes formed are nearly perpendicular to each other.
