Iodido[tris(1-methylbenzimidazol-2-ylmethyl)amine]zinc(II) perchlorate dimethylformamide hemisolvate

Abstract: In the cation of the title compound, [ZnI(C₂₇H₂₇N₇)]ClO₄·0.5C₃H₇NO, the Zn^II ion is chelated by a tris(1-methylbenzimidazol-2-ylmethyl)amine (Mentb) ligand with an I atom completing the coordination. The five-coordinate N₄I ligand set may be best described as trigonal-bipyramidal, with approximate C₃ molecular site symmetry.
