Abstract: The title compound, C6H14N22+·2NO3-, was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The asymmetric unit consists of one protonated 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) molecule and two nitrate anions. The structure is stabilized by hydrogen bonding of the nitrate O atoms to the protonated DABCO N atoms, with donor-acceptor distances ranging from 2.729 (2) to 3.111 (2) Å.
