Di-[mu]-acetato-bis[triaquabis(thiocyanato-[kappa]N)(pyridine N-oxide-[kappa]O)neodymium(III)]

S.-G. Zhang and J.-M. Shi

Abstract: The title binuclear complex, [Nd2([mu]-C2H3O2)2(NCS)4(C5H5NO)2(H2O)6], lies about an inversion centre at the centroid of the four-membered Nd2O2 ring, with the two acetate ions acting as bridging ligands. A monodentate pyridine N-oxide ligand, two terminal thiocyanate groups and three water molecules complete the coordination environments of each nine-coordinate NdIII atom. O-H...O, O-H...N and O-H...S hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a three-dimensional network.
