-acetato-bis[triaquabis(thiocyanato-
N)(pyridine N-oxide-
O)neodymium(III)]Abstract: The title binuclear complex, [Nd2(
-C2H3O2)2(NCS)4(C5H5NO)2(H2O)6], lies about an inversion centre at the centroid of the four-membered Nd2O2 ring, with the two acetate ions acting as bridging ligands. A monodentate pyridine N-oxide ligand, two terminal thiocyanate groups and three water molecules complete the coordination environments of each nine-coordinate NdIII atom. O-H
O, O-H
N and O-H
S hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a three-dimensional network.
