-(ethylenediaminetetraacetato-
8N,N',O,O',O'',O''':O'''',O''''')holmate(III)] monohydrate]Abstract: The holmium(III) atom in the title compound, {(H3O)[Ho(C10H12N2O8)]·nH2O}n, is N,N',O,O',O'',O'''-chelated by the ethylenediaminetetraacetate tetraanion. It is also linked to the O atoms of two other tetraaanions in the polyanionic layer. The metal atom, which lies on a special position of site symmetry m, exists in a square-antiprismatic geometry. The tetraanion is disordered across a mirror plane. The oxonium cation and water molecule are disordered in a ratio of 2:1. The title compound is isostructural with the erbium compound reported in the preceding paper.
