Abstract: The Hg atom in the title compound, (C14H18N2)[HgBrCl3], is coordinated by four halogen atoms in a tetrahedral geometry. The four halogen atoms are each disordered between Br and Cl, with the Br:Cl ratios being 0.218 (2):0.782 (2), 0.136 (2):0.864 (2), 0.090 (2):0.910 (2) and 0.556 (2):0.444 (2). The cation is disordered over two orientations and each was refined with an occupancy of 0.50.
