catena-Poly[[bromidosodium(I)]-bis(-dimethyl sulfoxide-²O:O)]

Abstract: In the title compound, [NaBr(C₂H₆OS)₂]_n, each Na^I cation is coordinated by four O atoms from four dimethyl sulfoxide ligands and by one Br^- anion in a distorted pyramidal geometry. Each O atom coordinates two Na^I cations, leading to the formation of polymeric coordination chains parallel to the a axis with protruding Br^- anions and methyl groups.
