Abstract: In the title compound, [Hg(C52H42N4O2)](PF6)2·3.5CH3CN, the linear coordination geometry of the Hg ion [C-Hg-C = 174.4 (2)°] is formed by two C atoms from the imidazole fragments [Hg-C = 2.072 (6) and 2.090 (6) Å]. The crystal packing exhibits weak intermolecular C-H
F and C-H
N hydrogen bonds.
