N1)tetrazolato-
N1]copper(II) dihydrateAbstract: The title compound, [Cu(C5H3N6)2(NH3)2]·2H2O, consists of a mononuclear copper complex and two solvent water molecules. The center CuII ion is coordinated by two NH3 and two 5-(pyrimidin-2-yl)tetrazolato ligands through the tetrazole N atoms in the 1 positions to form a square geometry. The two axial positions are occupied by weakly coordinated pyrimidinyl N atoms, thus giving rise to a highly distorted octahedral geometry. Furthermore, extensive intermolecular hydrogen-bond interactions lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.
