4N]cobaltate(III)Abstract: In the title compound, (C8H20N)[Co(C26H16N4O2)Cl2], the four N atoms of the N,N'-(o-phenylene)bis(isoquinoline-2-carboxamidate) (biqb2-) ligand form the equatorial plane of a distorted octahedral coordination environment around the CoIII ion, while two chloride ligands are axially coordinated. The Co-Namide distances are significantly shorter than the Co-Npyridyl distances. The dihedral angle between the two isoquinoline fused-ring systems is 25.72 (7)°. The crystal structure is stabilized, in part, by intermolecular Ccation-H
Cl and Cisoquinoline-H
Cl hydrogen bonds.
