O]copper(II) tetrahydrateAbstract: The centrosymmetric title compound, [Cu(C8H6NO5S)2(H2O)2]·4H2O, has a four-coordinate CuII ion in a square-planar geometry defined by two carboxylate O atoms from two (2-nitrophenylsulfinyl)acetate groups and two O atoms from two water molecules. The molecules are linked together by intermolecular hydrogen bonds involving the water molecules, resulting in a layer network.
