Triaqua[(4-nitrophenylsulfonyl)acetato-O](1,10-phenanthroline-²N,N')cobalt(II) (4-nitrophenylsulfonyl)acetate monohydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Co(C₈H₆NO₆S)(C₁₂H₈N₂)(H₂O)₃](C₈H₆NO₆S)·H₂O, the Co^II atom shows an octahedral coordination, the geometry being defined by a carboxylate O atom from a 4-nitrophenylsulfonylacetate anion, two N atoms from the phenanthroline ligand and three water molecules. The molecules of the complex are linked by O-HO hydrogen bonds, which also involve the solvent water molecule, to form a linear chain structure.
