[1-(2-Oxidobenzylidene)-4-phenylthiosemicarbazonato-³S,N¹,O](pyridine-N)nickel(II)

Abstract: In the title complex, [Ni(C₁₄H₁₁N₃OS)(C₅H₅N)], the Ni^II atom is N,O,S-chelated by the deprotonated salicylaldimine-4-phenylthiosemicarbazide dianion and is also coordinated by a pyridine molecule, the coordinating atoms giving rise to a square-planar geometry for the Ni atom. The asymmetric unit contains two molecules. The mononuclear units are linked into a chain structure along the b axis by intermolecular N-HS hydrogen bonds and weak - stacking interactions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid = 3.758 (3) Å].
