catena-Poly[[bis[-1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene-²N⁴:N^4']copper(I)] perchlorate]

Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, {[Cu(C₁₂H₁₂N₆)]ClO₄}_n, consists of a one-dimensional cationic copper(I) chain and uncoordinated ClO₄^- anions. In the cationic chain, the Cu^I center, which lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by two N atoms from two 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene ligands, giving a linear coordination geometry, and the 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene ligand adopts a bis-monodentate bridging mode, linking Cu^I atoms. The anion O atoms are disordered equally over two sites.
