{1,4-Bis[3-(3-methoxy-2-oxidobenzylideneamino)propyl]piperazine}iron(III) tetrafluoridoborate

Abstract: The title compound, [Fe(C₂₆H₃₄N₄O₄)]BF₄, shows a very distorted octahedral geometry about the Fe atom of the cation. This is due to the small bite angle of the piperazine ring, which adopts a boat conformation. The structure also displays C-HF hydrogen bonding. Disorder with site occupancies of 0.53 (2) and 0.47 (2) is found for three of the tetrafluoridoborate F atoms.
