Abstract: The title compound, [Fe(C26H34N4O4)]BF4, shows a very distorted octahedral geometry about the Fe atom of the cation. This is due to the small bite angle of the piperazine ring, which adopts a boat conformation. The structure also displays C-H
F hydrogen bonding. Disorder with site occupancies of 0.53 (2) and 0.47 (2) is found for three of the tetrafluoridoborate F atoms.
