2N:N'] dihydrate]Abstract: In the title compound, {[Zn(SO4)(C10H8N2)(H2O)3]·2H2O}n, the N-heterocycle of (4,4'-bipyridine)triaquasulfatozinc dihydrate links the sulfate- and water-coordinated Zn atom into a helical chain that runs along the a axis of the hexagonal P61 unit cell; adjacent chains are linked by hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network. The structure is a twin, the components being nearly 50%.
