(18-Crown-6)bis(tetrahydrofuran-O)potassium(I) [1,2-bis(fluoren-9-ylcarbonyl)benzene(2-)]bis(⁵-cyclopentadienyl)dysprosate(III)

Abstract: The title compound, [K(C₂₀H₄₀O₈)(C₄H₈O)₂][Dy(C₅H₅)₂(C₃₄H₂₀O₂)], was isolated serendipitously from a reaction of anhydrous DyCl₃ and KCp (Cp = cyclopentadienyl) in tetrahydrofuran (THF), followed by addition of KFl(18-crown-6) (Fl = fluorenide). In the cation, K⁺ is coordinated by 18-crown-6 and two THF ligands, while the anion is an `ate' complex of Dy^III, containing two ⁵-Cp ligands and the novel chelating ligand o-phenylenebis(fluorenylideneacylate).
