Abstract: The title polymeric compound, {[Zn(C₁₀H₇NO₅)(H₂O)]·H₂O}_n, consists of a one-dimensional chain, in which the Zn²⁺ centre is coordinated by two O atoms and one N atom from the tridentate dianionic N-(3-carboxy-2-oxidobenzylidene)glycinate ligand, one water molecule and a bridging carboxylate O atom from an adjacent ligand. This results in a square-based pyramidal coordination.
