Abstract: In the title compound, [Fe(C6H4N)(C7H7O)], the two cyclopentadienyl rings are nearly parallel, making a dihedral angle of 2.3 (1) Å, and are almost eclipsed as viewed down the normal to each ring. In the crystal structure, the molecules are stacked along the b axis, with a short distance of 3.749 (1) Å between the centroids of the cyclopentadienyl rings of neighbouring molecules. Weak intermolecular C-H
N and C-H
O hydrogen bonds link these stacks into two-dimensional sheets parallel to the bc plane.
