N3)cobalt(II) sulfateAbstract: In the title compound, [Co(C5H6N2)(H2O)5]SO4, each CoII ion is coordinated by one N atom from a 1-vinyl-1H-imidazole ligand and five water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. In the crystal structure, the cations and anions are linked by O-H
O hydrogen bonds into two-dimensional layers parallel to the ab plane, with the 1-vinyl-1H-imidazole ligands protruding.
