Abstract: The title compound, [Sn₄(CH₃)₈(C₇HF₄O₂)₄O₂], was obtained from the reaction of the ligand 2,3,4,5-tetrafluorobenzoic acid and dimethyltin(IV) oxide. The Sn atom is five-coordinate and displays trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The molecule is centrosymmetric about the Me₄Sn₂O₂ core and molecules are linked by C-HO and C-HF intermolecular interactions.
