Abstract: In the title compound, [Ni(C₆H₁₆N₂)₂(H₂O)₂]Cl₂, the Ni^II cation (site symmetry ) is coordinated by two N,N-bidentate ligands and two water molecules, resulting in a slightly distorted trans-NiO₂N₄ octahedron. The complex cations and chloride anions are linked by N-HCl and O-HCl hydrogen bonds into a chain.
