Dichloridobis{2-[(triphenylmethyl)amino]pyridine-N}zinc(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [ZnCl₂(C₂₄H₂₀N₂)₂], the Zn^II centre has a distorted tetrahedral geometry defined by two chloride ions and two N atoms of the pyridine rings of the monodentate 2-[(triphenylmethyl)amino]pyridine ligands. Long intramolecular N-HCl hydrogen bonds help to establish the three-dimensional architecture.
