Methyl 2-[(E)-(3-formyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)diazenyl]benzoate

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₅H₁₂N₂O₄, displays a twisted conformation as reflected in the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings of 59.77 (7)°. Intra- and intermolecular O-HO interactions are found, with the latter leading to a double chain arranged about a zigzag chain of {O-HO}_n interactions.
