Bis[1,1'-(butane-1,4-diyl)diimidazolium] -octamolybdate(VI)

Abstract: The title compound, (C₁₀H₁₆N₄)₂[-Mo₈O₂₆], was synthesized by a hydrothermal reaction. The structure consists of a centrosymmetric -octamolybdate anion and two 1,1'-(butane-1,4-diyl)bis(imidazolium) cations for charge balance. The anions and cations are linked by N-HO hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.
